Learn the skills needed to manage pharmaceutical inventory and fulfill prescriptions by pursuing an associate degree in Ultimate Medical Academy (UMA)’s Health Sciences - Pharmacy Technician program. Students can earn a Health Sciences – Pharmacy Technician associate degree in as little as 18 months (individual program lengths may vary)¹. In addition to the program’s online coursework, students will also participate in a 180-hour on-site externship to get critical hands-on training. This course is designed for students to practice the responsibilities and duties of a pharmacy technician under facility/staff supervision. Pharmacy technicians can work in pharmacies, hospitals, and general merchandise stores under the direction of a certified pharmacist.

*Prospective students seeking to enroll in the Health Sciences – Pharmacy Technician program must complete a skills assessment during the Provisional Enrollment Period. Provisional students are allowed one attempt at the skills assessment and must score above a Level 1 to avoid being cancelled from the program. See catalog for more info.
1. Set schedules required for on-site externship/practicum courses in select programs. In all programs, coursework deadlines are set by instructors. Completion times vary according to the individual student.
2. Learners must meet eligibility criteria to sit for applicable certification exams.

4. Coursework is online except for an on-site externship/practicum in select programs. Not all course room functions are accessible on mobile devices. Reliable internet required.
