As a student in Ultimate Medical Academy's online Medical Billing and Coding associate degree program, you’ll learn how to interpret medical terms into the codes used for billing. You’ll become familiar with the insurance billing process, learn software applications and more. Working environments for medical billers and coders include physician offices, insurance companies, medical offices and more. Graduates can apply for entry-level positions as a billing specialist, coder, medical biller and coder, medical insurance verifier, medical reviewer, records clerk and more.

Classes at UMA help prepare you to take the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam. If you meet eligibility requirements and pass the exam, you’ll be awarded your certification which can help you stand out as an applicant.
